The universe is apparently trying to tell me something. The theme which I found in my random readings today? Boldness. According to social science research, men tend to be a little more arrogant and succeed more often because they are bolder. I listened to this brief interview from NPR. Women are more humble and will short change crediting their own efforts more quickly and attribute their success to others’ support instead of their own talent. Women don’t score as high on the successful entrepreneurial chart. To be successful, arrogance is good and humility is bad. Hmm. And thanks Sue.

I then stumbled across a Goethe quote and then another about Boldness.

And suddenly, I felt the need to be a little more Bold. I am not the type to hound people for anything, or even ask. But then again, efforts need to be made to be rewarded right?

Trying hard to shakes off the hangover of the “what ifs”. What if I look the fool, what if I fail? What if it turns out I can’t really do it after all? And replacing them with the gung-ho boldness that I admire in so many other doers. Let it be a magnificent failure and get points for the effort. Admire myself for doing it anyway. Tell my fears to have a seat in the back and enjoy the ride.

Because Fortune Favors the Bold.

And the Authentic. Be you and you can’t really screw that up.
